Our Successful Spay/Neuter Event in China—and What’s Next

Together, We’re Saving Lives!

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: our very first spay/neuter event in China was a resounding success—and it’s all thanks to your incredible support!

In a region where animal welfare is often overlooked, our dedicated team of veterinarians partnered with local authorities to provide not only free spaying and neutering but also deworming, de-fleaing, and vaccinating services to over 40 homeless dogs. These are dogs who would likely have faced a tragic fate in the dog meat trade. Over just two days, we not only protected these animals but also made a critical impact in a highly restricted environment where such initiatives are rare.

A Milestone Achievement

This first event has shown us that our ongoing spay/neuter program can make a real difference in our efforts to end the dog and cat meat trade in China by significantly reducing the supply of stray animals. Homeless animals all too often end up being snatched from the street by meat traders. We’re more confident than ever that we can continue to drive change. In fact, we’re already planning another large-scale spay/neuter event this fall. But our work doesn’t stop there.

Lasting Impact on Ending the Dog and Cat Meat Trade

Our renovations for a new veterinarian training clinic are moving along beautifully. By the end of the year, we’ll have the first-ever veterinarian facility in China that focuses exclusively on spaying and neutering and is ready to train a new generation of compassionate veterinarians across China.

This clinic will be an important cornerstone in our mission to end the dog and cat meat trade in China. The fewer stray animals, the fewer animals end up in the illicit, cruel dog and cat meat trade.

Sadly, local officials often turn a blind eye to dog and cat meat traders taking homeless animals because they think these thieves are helping them “control” animal overpopulation. We believe that with our spay/neuter project reducing the number of strays, officials will be more inclined to crack down on this illegal trade.

Your Help is Needed

None of this is possible without your support. Spay/neuter services and other veterinary care are expensive. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to continue this essential lifesaving work.

We may not be a large organization, but thanks to you, we are making significant and lasting changes to end the dog and cat meat trade by reducing the number of stray animals in China.

We are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. Thank you for taking this journey with us. With your continued help, we can ensure that even more animals are saved from a life of suffering.

Donate today to help us continue this critical work. Together, we can make a difference.
